DJ Smash and DJ Nickodemus @ Paradise Lounge, San Frandisco July 2009

My NY homie Nickodemus rolled through SF to celebrate the release of his incredible latest ESL release "Sun People" (real music lovers...do not sleep on this joint). http://turntablesonthehudson.com/store.htm

Senor Oz (of the Afrolicious Crew- http://afroliciousoriginal.blogspot.com/) put together a release party, so of course, I had show up and throw down a set.
An awsome sound system and beautiful crowd made the night memorable.

My set is first and Nick's set starts at around 1:12 (Senor Oz threw down a kick ass set earlier but unfortunately, my recorder wasn't hooked up until just before my set). I'll post a playlist real soon..gotta get some titles from Nicko.

Motown Underground Mix #1

Over the past couple of years I've taken time out and just for kicks, remixed some of my favorite Motown classics. They're all unreleased and unauthorized (though one day soon, that might change).

I usually drop them in my club sets to get the crowd movin' (every DJ needs their secret weapons, right? ;)

I get many, many request for copies, but I've been hesitant to pass them around since I really don't want them booted up and on the market without my knowledge (this happened already with one remix so, I learned that lesson the hard way..no more AIM swaps!).

But I really wanted to share them outside of the club with listeners and true fans of the music and I figure this podcast might be the perfect vehicle...

So here, for the first time online (for a limited time only) are several of those remixes (track list below). Look out for another Motown mix coming soon(ish).

Motown Underground mix#1

1. Upside Down - Diana Ross
2. I Can't Get Next To You-The Temptations
3. Don't Leave Me This Way - Thelma Houston
4. Give It To Me Baby - Rick James
5. Brick House - Commodores
6. Signed, Sealed, Delivered - Stevie Wonder
7. What's Going On - Marvin Gaye

All remixes by DJ Smash for Mobile Global Productions
